Officiant Specific Questions

Q: Do you offer premarital counseling?

A: No, but I would be happy to direct you to a licensed counselor who specializes in relationship counseling.

Q: How many times will we meet?

A: We will meet a total of three times: when we customize your ceremony, at the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. Additional meetings can be arranged but may include an additional fee. Communication by phone or email is unlimited.

Q: Do you do rehearsals?

A: Yes

Q: Do you have a script or do you personalize the wedding ceremony for each couple?

A: I have several scripted options for each section of the wedding. You will have the opportunity to choose which option suits you best. Alternatively, custom wording is also available; this may include an additional fee.

A: I typically wear business casual outfits to perform ceremonies. If you have a preference for dress code please share that with me and I will do my best to accommodate.

Q: What time will you arrive?

A: Typically I arrive 20 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony. I can arrive earlier if needed and requested in advance. Arrival time will be noted in the contract.

Q: How long is a typical ceremony?

A: The typical ceremony is between 15 and 20 minutes in length.

Q: Do you perform religious ceremonies?

A: No, I perform secular ceremonies. If you prefer a religious ceremony you should contact your local place of worship.

Q: Can we write our own vows? Will you help us with that?

A: Yes and yes. I encourage everyone to write personal vows. This is a wonderful way to express your love in your own words and to declare to everyone present exactly how special your spouse is to you. If one or both of you have children you can also incorporate them into your vows or even write vows to the child as well.

Q: Will you fill out and file our marriage license?

A: Yes and yes, please make sure you apply for and bring the certificates to the wedding ceremony location.

Planner/Coordinator Specific Questions

Q: How many meetings will we have, and how will we be involved?

A: It depends on which services you choose. Some services will require only one meeting while others will require several. The number of meetings will be noted in the contract for your specific services.

Q: Do you handle professional services, contracts and payment processing?

A: I will happily coordinate and communicate with other vendors but I will request that you write the checks for other pros yourselves. I recommend you pay your vendors directly instead of through your planner.
